In the hills of WV in a town called Clarksburg, is the birth place of a legend, solider, and a man known as General Stonewall Jackson. We extend to you an invitation to come to the next four years of commemoration of this Civil War, of brother against brother. Learn of the birth of West Virginia of a nation torn. Meet the forty one Generals that will be here as they tell their part in this war. In full persona, such as Jackson, Grant, Custer, Lee, Longstreet. Meet President Lincoln and President Davis, Bell Boyd, Greenhowe, Harriet Tub man. Hear the cannons roar in battle and the ground trimmer of this war. Civil War Round Tables, authors of this war, will be here to sign their books. Gather information from their knowledge of this war. Living history through out the park.  Black smith, wool spinning and more. West Virginia own "Honey in the Rock" will join us. One Man Play "Solider in Gray" yes it will be ok to shed a tear, as our Generals both the North and South kneel together on stage and consol each other as they pay respect to their flags. Walk through the encampments, smell the camp fires, see the lanterns hang, see life as a solider of this war. Talk to the Generals and other personas, a one on one is always welcome. Visit Civil War Hospitals, ride a covered wagon, or carriage, see a steam engine train, ride a hot air balloon, attend a ball. The things to do are endless in this two day event. It is the commemoration of the Civil War and you will be there. As a tribute to this war a great display of fire works. Bus tours to Civil War sights Saturday only. A weekend to remember and to come back to, for the next four years. As we add more to do and see.
Come and join us May 12 and 13, 2012 in this "Free to the Public" event. Free Parking, No admission fees to anything. Handi- Cap Parking call ahead. Food on site, restrooms, shuttle bus, rest areas. Come and walk where General Stonewall Jackson walk and played as a child.
